Industry analysis indicates that Argentina's steel demand is projected to rebound in 2026, driven primarily by increased public investment and economic growth.

The Argentinian steel association (Acero Argentino) forecasts a 13% rise in consumption in 2026 compared to 2025. While the sector is currently in a consolidation phase, demand from key industries such as construction, automotive, and energy is expected to provide support.

The economic reforms implemented by the Milei administration have shown results in controlling inflation, creating conditions for economic recovery. The government plans to significantly boost infrastructure investment, including railways, highways, and energy projects, which will directly stimulate steel consumption.

Currently, the Argentine steel industry faces challenges such as low capacity utilization and import competition. Whether the sector can fully capitalize on the demand recovery will depend on improvements in corporate competitiveness and the broader economic environment.

Overall, with policy support and investment driving growth, Argentina's steel industry is expected to enter a recovery cycle in 2026, though the strength of the rebound remains subject to multiple influencing factors.
