On December 30, 2025, the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance announced a five-month extension for provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties on carbon steel or alloy steel hot-rolled products from China and Japan. Initially set to expire on January 22, 2026, the measures will now remain in place until June 22, 2026. This change brings the total duration of the temporary taxes to nine months.

The initial investigation began in March 2025. Following a positive preliminary ruling by the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) in July, the government first implemented the provisional duties in September.

The subject goods exclude hot-rolled steel products that are clad, plated, or coated, hot-rolled plates with a thickness of 4.75 mm or more and a width of 600 mm or more, as well as stainless steel products.
