The Peruvian steelmaker Aceros Arequipa acquired assets recently from a company in the state of Florida, US, a move aligned with its international expansion plan.

The acquisition includes a shredder, a metal separator, and specialized mobile equipment. These assets will allow Aceros Arequipa to expand its processing capacity and ensure the supply of scrap metal, a raw material for steel production, for its operations.

Founded in 1964, Aceros Arequipa was the first privately owned steel company in Peru. In recent years, Aceros Arequipa has developed operations and shipments to international markets and also has commercial operations in the US.
