Hyundai Steel Industry has secured a $450 million contract to manufacture and install substructures for the Shinan Ui offshore wind farm in South Jeolla Province.

The agreement with Hanwha Ocean covers work from this month through January 2029 for the 390MW project. A key feature is the planned first South Korean use of the "pre-piling" method, aimed at shortening schedules and improving accuracy.

The company brings prior experience from domestic and international offshore wind projects since 2012. An executive stated that this project will advance South Korea's offshore wind construction technology.
