Tenaris, a leading global steel pipe supplier headquartered in Luxembourg, is bringing heat treatment and finishing operations back online at its Koppel, Pennsylvania plant to supply the American energy market with locally made steel pipes.

A US$2.1 million injection funded this restart, creating over 80 new jobs. These lines represent the final stages of a regional manufacturing loop involving facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania, where electric arc furnaces produce steel billets for rolling, quenching, and tempering.

This move builds upon a US$150 million upgrade to the site's steel shop, including a US$85 million exhaust system recently installed to improve sustainability.

By integrating its own scrap processing yard nearby, Tenaris aims to streamline its domestic supply chain. Tenaris US President Guillermo Moreno said that the reopening secures Koppel's role as a cornerstone for the company’s operations in the US.
