Metallus & USW Local 1123 agree on new 4-year tentative deal

Metallus, a specialty metals and components producer, and the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1123 have established a new four-year tentative contract after union members voted down two earlier proposals in October and December 2025. This agreement impacts roughly 1,200 workers at the company’s facilities in Canton, Ohio.

To facilitate the upcoming ratification vote, both parties extended the existing labor contract until February 12, 2026. CEO Mike Williams said that the resolution is a fair balance between employee needs and corporate priorities.

While the union prepares to announce a voting date, manufacturing operations remain active.
