Ukrainian industry is expected to play a central role in the country’s postwar recovery, according to Luca Zanotti, CEO of steel pipe and wheel manufacturer Interpipe. Speaking at the panel “From Resilience to Recovery” at Ukraine House Davos, Zanotti said Ukraine has all the necessary fundamentals for successful reconstruction, along with the resilience of its people.

He highlighted Ukraine’s resource potential, energy independence, and nuclear power as key advantages. At Interpipe, Zanotti said people, entrepreneurship, and investment are pillars of resilience. The company’s Nikopol pipe plant continues to operate just 4.5 kilometers from the front line. Since the start of the war, Interpipe has diversified its products and markets while investing over US$100 million, including in decarbonization initiatives that place it alongside global leaders in CO₂ emissions reduction.

Zanotti also praised government policies, such as the ban on scrap metal exports, and said EU accession will provide a second home market, supporting Ukraine’s recovery.
