India’s JNIL to build 2 mtpa integrated steel plant in Maharashtra

Indian steelmaker Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited (JNIL) said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to build an integrated steel plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons. 

The project will be located in the Gadchiroli district, one of the state’s key mineral-rich regions. Total investment for the project is estimated at Rs 12,262 crore. The project is expected to create 2,600 direct jobs.

JNIL said the state government will support the project by facilitating permits, registrations, approvals, clearances, and fiscal incentives in line with existing laws and policies.
