KMS Gesenkschmiede assets up for sale in Solingen

6 Feb 2026 11:26 reported by Joy Liu

KMS Gesenkschmiede, a specialist in high-precision forged parts for clients such as Audi and Volkswagen, has launched the sale of its Solingen facility. KRUDO now manages the disposal of this company, which features automated forging lines and machinery updated as recently as 2023.

Economic pressures across the European forging sector prompted the restructuring. While the site reflects deep German engineering expertise, potential buyers from India, Turkey, and other Asian regions have already expressed interest in acquiring the equipment.

The transaction process should conclude by the end of the first quarter of this year, with machinery removal planned for year-end. This closure raises new concerns regarding the long-term resilience of strategic manufacturing and industrial competitiveness within the European Union.
