Ukraine imposes 67.4% duty on Malaysian steel fasteners to prevent tax evasion

The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICIT) of Ukraine announced a final ruling on January 29, 2026, regarding steel fasteners from China. The investigation concluded that Chinese-made screws, bolts, and nuts were routed through Malaysia to bypass existing anti-dumping (AD) duties. As a result, these Malaysian shipments now face a 67.40% AD duty, matching the rate established in a 2020 resolution for China.

This decision followed a probe initiated in April 2025 at the request of local enterprises, which analyzed trade data from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. This decision becomes effective ten days after the public announcement.

The products involved are under HS codes 7318 15 68 90、7318 15 82 90、7318 15 88 90, 7318 15 95 90, 7318 16 92 90, and 7318 16 99 90.
