Kanadevia Corporation and Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd. announced plans last Thursday (February 5) to begin talks regarding a management integration. This merger is expected to form Japan’s largest engineering company, with combined sales exceeding 1 trillion yen.

The companies expect to sign a final agreement in September 2025, targeting completion by April 2027. Through this merger, the partners intend to strengthen their management foundations and global competitiveness, particularly in decarbonization and resource circulation.

Kanadevia President and CEO Michi Kuwahara said that the goal is to build a top-class global engineering group. Depending on final share ratios, the new entity may become a listed affiliate or subsidiary of Nippon Steel Corporation.
