Danieli to build large-scale water-treatment plant for JSW Steel

19 Feb 2026 10:16 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
JSW Steel has selected Danieli to design and supply a large-scale water-treatment plant (WTP) for its Dolvi Works Phase-3 expansion in Maharashtra. This system supports the 4.5-MTPA hot-strip mill, providing cooling water to the tunnel furnaces, caster, and mill at a flow rate of about 58,000 m³/h.

The facility utilizes patented DanFilters™ technology for high-flow filtration within a compact footprint. Danieli Automation will provide advanced control and monitoring systems to ensure operational stability.

Scheduled for a December 2026 startup, the project relies on local engineering and supply to promote technological self-reliance. This installation represents one of the largest water-treatment projects in Danieli’s history, focusing on space efficiency and simplified maintenance for the thin slab casting and rolling operation.
