According to the reports, the Brazilian government announced to impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel products and medical syringes for a period of five years.

Among them, cold rolled steel products are a critical raw material for the manufacturing sector, used in the production of automotive body panels, refrigerators, washing machines, metal furniture, storage systems, and various light industrial components.

The Brazilian government has been investigating Chinese steel imports since April 2024 and has confirmed the existence of dumping practices that caused significant harm to the domestic industry. As a result, companies that failed to provide comprehensive explanations were imposed tariffs of up to US$670/ton.

Coated flat steel products are commonly used in galvanized and aluminized steel sheets for roofing, automotive parts, and household appliances. Tariffs will range from US$285/ton to US$645/ton, with non-cooperative exporters subject to the highest rates.
