Technip Energies to build SkyNRG’s first European sustainable aviation fuel plant

SkyNRG, a Dutch sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supplier, awarded Technip Energies a contract for the DSL-01 project in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. This standalone facility will produce 100,000 tons of SAF annually using the Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) pathway.

Technip Energies will manage the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning after finishing the initial design phase.

The plant processes waste feedstocks such as used cooking oil and includes an on-site hydrogen plant using proprietary Steam Methane Reforming (SMR) technology. This setup improves cost efficiency and reduces lifecycle emissions for large-scale production.

As the company’s sixth HEFA-based SAF project in Europe, this agreement strengthens its role in regional aviation fuel capacity. The collaboration is expected to provide competitive green fuel through integrated pre-treatment and hydrogen plants.
