On February 23, 2026, Brazil’s Foreign Trade Executive Management Committee (Gecex) issued Resolution No. 857, concluding a public interest assessment on non-oriented silicon steel from China, Germany, South Korea, and Taiwan. This decision increases anti-dumping (AD) duties on Chinese products to a range between US$105.55 and US$195.05 per ton, from the previous rates between US$90.00 and US$166.32 per ton.

Duties for other countries remain unchanged, with Germany staying at US$166.32 per ton, South Korea at US$0.00 to US$166.32 per ton, and Taiwan at US$90.00 to US$166.32 per ton.

The resolution becomes effective immediately upon publication.

The subject goods are flat-rolled silicon steel, known as magnetic, non-grain oriented steel (NGO steel), under tariff codes 7225.19.00 and 7226.19.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).
