ArcelorMittal Poland has invested nearly PLN 60 million to ready its blast furnace no. 3 at the Dabrowa Gornicza unit for a possible return to service this spring. The facility had been idle since September due to poor market conditions.

Chairman and CEO Wojciech Koszuta said that the exact commissioning date depends on the market situation.

The renovation involves 20 companies and focuses on the furnace hearth and cooling system. Support manager Marek Berliński noted that the scope includes relining with new refractory materials and renovating the tuyere platform structure. These technical updates at the Dabrowa Gornicza site will extend the installation's campaign by approximately four years.
