Barca Metals, a scrap-processing operator in Australia, has chosen Danieli Centro Recycling to install a new scrap processing facility in New South Wales.

The plant features a DCR 2227 heavy-duty shredder powered by a 4,000-hp (3,000 kW) main motor and a patented variable speed drive system. This technology reduces electricity use by up to 20% while maintaining an output of 100 tons per hour.

The system includes a ZDS 250-800 preshredder to stabilize feeding and lower explosion risks. Downstream, the line utilizes magnetic stages, air separation, and non-ferrous recovery equipment to produce clean materials.

This project at the Razorback yard represents a significant expansion for Danieli’s high-efficiency recycling solutions within the Oceania region.
