Primetals Technologies successfully modernized the electric arc furnace (EAF) at Çolakoğlu Metalurji’s plant in Dilovasi, Turkey. The project introduced a new furnace-tilting device for better movement precision and an electromagnetic stirrer (EMS) system. These technical improvements increase operational reliability, energy efficiency, and furnace maintainability.

The upgrade utilized modular prefabrication and 3D modeling to integrate new mechanical and hydraulic assemblies into the existing brownfield environment. Despite the complex engineering requirements and confined workspace, the team finished all installation and commissioning tasks within a strict four-week schedule.

This partnership provides the steelmaker with enhanced mechanical stability and production efficiency while ensuring long-term reliability through advanced automation and robust mechanical design.
