Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) has launched an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on March 12, 2026, targeting graphite electrodes imported from China and India. This action is based on a petition filed on July 31, 2025, by local producer Graftech Brasil Participações Ltda.

The period for the dumping investigation is from April 2024 to March 2025, and the assessment of industrial injury spans from April 2020 to March 2025.

This probe, which took effect immediately upon announcement, aims to evaluate whether these imports unfairly damaged the domestic industry over the past five years.

The products involved are under a tariff code 8545.11.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).
