Turkey investigates circumvention of duties on Chinese-made pipe fittings

16 Mar 2026 13:44 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
On March 7, 2026, the Turkish Ministry of Trade launched an anti-circumvention probe into steel pipe fittings, following a request from domestic manufacturer Trakya Döküm San. ve Tic. A.Ş. regarding products under HS code 7307.19.

The petitioner claimed that anti-dumping (AD) measures on Chinese-made fittings are being rendered ineffective by products originating from or exported via Romania.

The Ministry evaluated these findings within the framework of national laws and regulations. The inquiry, covering trade activities between 2023 and 2025, aims to determine if Chinese-made fittings are routed through Romania to bypass existing AD duties.

Effective immediately, the investigation will analyze shipment patterns to prevent the evasion of trade protections.
