Morgan Sindall has started construction on the South Wales Industrial Transition from Carbon Hub (SWITCH) research facility in Port Talbot. The £28m project aims to accelerate decarbonisation in the steel and metals sector.

Located at a purpose-built facility, the hub will support innovation across academia, industry, and government. It will include workshops, laboratories, and office space to develop circular economy models and advanced materials.

Jo Stevens, Secretary of State for Wales, said the project supports over £100m in government investment to create jobs and develop clean industries in Wales.
