On March 23, Mexico’s Ministry of Economy announced it would impose provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties on imports of hot-rolled steel originating from China. The measure includes AD duties of US$0.2160 per kilogram on products from Wuhan Iron and Steel, US$0.2304 per kilogram on imports from Shanghai Meishan Iron and Steel, US$0.2242 per kilogram on imports from other Chinese exporting producers that participated in the investigation but were not selected, and US$0.2304 per kilogram on imports from other Chinese exporters.

Meanwhile, imports from Vietnam, including those produced by Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel, were set at US$0.1960 per kilogram. Imports from Formosa Ha Tinh Steel, as well as other Vietnamese companies, will be subject to duties of US$0.1969 per kilogram.

The investigation was initiated in March last year following a complaint filed by Ternium. It covers flat steel products classified under multiple HS codes, including 7208.10.03, 7208.25.02, 7208.26.01, 7208.27.01, 7208.36.01, 7208.37.01, 7208.38.01, 7208.39.01, 7208.40.02, 7208.51.04, 7208.52.01, 7208.53.01, 7208.54.01, 7208.90.99, 7211.13.01, 7211.14.91, 7211.19.99, 7225.30.91, 7225.40.91, and 7226.91.07.
