Jindal Steel, an Indian integrated steel producer, has finished its 6 MTPA expansion at the Angul Integrated Steel Complex in Odisha. The commissioning of a third 3 MTPA Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF-3) brings the site’s total crude steel capacity to 12 MTPA. This milestone also raises the company’s overall production capability to 15.6 MTPA, with 3.6 MTPA produced at its Raigarh plant.

The project included the operationalization of upstream and downstream units such as coke ovens and a CRM complex. The company expects this larger scale to drive higher volumes and improve cost efficiency.

By completing the expansion within the scheduled timeframe, the company enhances its position in the domestic market and supports national self-sufficiency goals by increasing integrated steel production.
