The Peruvian steelmaker Aceros Arequipa has strengthened its internationalization strategy by acquiring three metal recycling centers in Florida, USA. 

This operation, managed through its US subsidiary Aceros América Tampa LLC, expands its capacity for collecting, sorting, and processing recyclable metals, both ferrous and non-ferrous.

The main objective of this investment is to strengthen the company's vertical integration, ensuring its self-sufficiency in scrap metal, a fundamental raw material for its steel production. By directly controlling these recycling centers in a strategic market, the company seeks to optimize its logistics costs and reduce its dependence on external suppliers in its global value chain.

Tulio Silgado, the general manager of Aceros Arequipa, emphasized that this expansion not only reinforces its international growth strategy but also expands its operational capacity in the US by guaranteeing the supply of this essential raw material for its steel production.
