Alleima’s Kanthal division opens new North Carolina service center to drive industrial electrification

Alleima’s Kanthal division has launched a new service center in Concord, North Carolina, to meet rising US demand for high-temperature heating solutions.

By expanding Globar® silicon carbide heating element production, the facility supports manufacturers in electronics, glass, and steel, aiming to replace fossil fuels with electric alternatives. These heating elements operate at temperatures reaching 2,950°F, offering a path to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency.

The Concord site, part of a US$11 million global investment, increases Kanthal’s production capacity by 40%, coupled with expansions at its Perth, Scotland location. Previously supplied from overseas, US customers now benefit from local manufacturing of metallic and silicon carbide elements, providing faster lead times for advanced manufacturing applications.
