POSCO Group has allocated 7 billion won to robot solutions provider Brils to advance automation and artificial intelligence (AI) in its manufacturing.

This investment, funded through POSCO Holdings’ strategic and venture capital funds, enables the joint development of automation operating systems. The partnership aims to transition beyond traditional smart factories into autonomous intelligent factories where humans, AI, and robots collaborate.

The steelmaker intends to deploy customized robots in labor-intensive and high-risk operations to improve productivity and workplace safety.

Brils, established in 2015, joins several other robotics firms in POSCO’s portfolio. This move supports the group's objective to scale up AI-based processes across its operations.
