On April 21, 2026, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review regarding the anti-dumping (AD) ruling made on July 2, 2021 on concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) imports from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The process in May 2021 examined shipments from these seven nations with respective dumping margins of 4.8% for Algeria, 23.1% for Egypt, 3.3% for Indonesia, 10.5% for Vietnam, and 23.1% for Italy, Malaysia, and Singapore.

This expiry review evaluates whether removing current AD measures could lead to the continuation or resumption of dumping.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) plans to reach a final decision by September 17, 2026, and the Statement of Reasons is scheduled for October 2, 2026.
