ArcelorMittal Poland has wrapped up preparations to restart blast furnace No. 3 at its Dąbrowa Górnicza site, a project costing 60 million zlotys. The move is expected to bring the plant back to full production capacity.

The company stressed that steel production in Poland remains a strategic priority, with Dąbrowa Górnicza playing a key role in the national industrial supply chain.

Alongside the blast furnace restart, ArcelorMittal Poland is launching another 60-million-zloty project to modernize aspiration systems for sinter belt conveyors and a sinter screening unit, aimed at cutting the environmental impact of production.

In the first half of 2026 alone, the company is investing more than 120 million zlotys at the Dąbrowa Górnicza site. Since 2004, total investment in its Polish assets has reached nearly 11.5 billion zlotys. The company also highlighted local sourcing, working with roughly 3,000 Polish suppliers.

ArcelorMittal Poland sees investments in quality, energy efficiency, and modernization as a key response to pressure from cheap steel imports coming from outside the EU.
