ArcelorMittal’s subsidiary Industeel has recently inaugurated a new casting facility at its Le Creusot facility in France, with a total investment of EUR 52 million, which includes EUR 12.3 million in state support under the France 2030 program.
The unit utilizes vertical continuous casting technology to streamline production and reduce energy consumption. Initial output is estimated at 15,000 tons annually, with capacity expected to increase to 25,000 tons, while cutting carbon emissions by around 10%.
The upgrade enables dual casting processes at the plant, increasing flexibility and strengthening its position in premium steel and applications related to energy.
