Weld Australia and the Australian Stainless Steel Development Association (ASSDA) have formalized a partnership through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to unite the welding, fabrication, and stainless steel sectors to improve local procurement and sovereign industrial capacity.

Leaders of the two associations, Ben Mitchell and Lissel Pilcher, signed the deal, which introduces a reciprocal membership arrangement.

Under this pact, members from both groups gain broader access to technical resources, education, and networking events at discounted rates. The collaboration focuses on practical benefits, helping businesses navigate a competitive environment by pooling industry knowledge.

By aligning their goals, both organizations intend to build sovereign manufacturing strength and support the high-quality standards essential for Australia’s critical infrastructure and safety.
