UK-based engineering and plant construction company Primetals Technologies and ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt have completed a major revamp of the 255-ton LD converter No.2 at the German steel plant in Eisenhüttenstadt. The project involved replacing and commissioning the converter's suspension system within 50 days while production continued without interruption.

Primetals Technologies handled the engineering study, equipment supply, and advisory services. Robert Richter, Head of Steel Plant at ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt, confirmed the teams met the timeline and moved the converter with its new refractory lining smoothly. He praised the project as a strong team effort and thanked all involved for their dedication.
