To boost employment, economic development, and industrialization, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo signed an agreement declaring that the government will prioritize the procurement of domestically produced steel in public infrastructure projects.

Domestic steel companies have to ensure product quality, guarantee supply and delivery, offer competitive prices under market conditions.

It is projected that Mexico's infrastructure public spending will increase by 10.9% year-on-year in 2026, further driving demand for steel, especially long products.
