US maintains CVD order on PC strand imports from Turkey

5 May 2026 15:45 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced final results for its expedited first sunset review of countervailing duty (CVD) orders on prestressed concrete steel wire strand (PC strand) from Turkey, determining that removing these orders would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of subsidies. This review process began in January 2026 and concluded on May 4.

If the orders were canceled, net subsidy rates would reach 68.74% for Celik Halat ve Tel San A.S. and 95.29% for Guney Celik Hasir ve Demir. All other Turkish producers face a projected rate of 82.29%.

These trade measures first went into effect in February 2021 to address unfair trade practices in the steel sector.
