On April 23, 2026, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced new trade investigations targeting oil country tubular goods (OCTG).

Austria faces both anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) probes, and the UAE and Taiwan are subject to AD inquiries. These actions are based on petitions by the U.S. OCTG Manufacturers Association (USOMA), United States Steel Corporation, the United Steelworkers, and several domestic pipe producers.

According to statistics, imports in 2025 reached nearly US$220 million from Austria, US$189 million from Taiwan, and US$67 million from the UAE.

The International Trade Commission (ITC) expects to issue its preliminary determination by May 18, 2026, to decide if these imports injure American industry.
