Hyundai-POSCO Louisiana Steel LLC selected Danieli to supply equipment for a new integrated steel plant in the US. This facility focuses on high-quality, low-carbon automotive steel for North American manufacturers.

The project includes an ENERGIRON® Direct Reduction Plant capable of producing 2.5 million tons of hot and cold direct reduced iron per year, designed for hydrogen use and carbon capture.

The meltshop features two electric arc furnaces with Zerobucket ECS®continuous scrap charging, supporting a total output of 2.88 million tons.

Danieli will also provide secondary metallurgy systems, two thick slab casters, and two reheating furnaces. These casters prioritize surface quality for demanding vehicle applications. The reheating units already support natural gas and hydrogen mixtures to meet upcoming decarbonization goals.
