US preliminary results reveal subsidies for South Korean CTL plates

15 May 2026 15:59 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) issued preliminary determinations regarding countervailable subsidies provided to South Korean exporters of cut-to-length carbon-quality steel plate (CTL plate).

During the review period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, the USDOC determined that Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Steel Company received government support. Therefore, it calculated preliminary subsidy rates of 1.89% for Dongkuk and 1.39% for Hyundai Steel.

In the same ruling, the authority rescinded the review for Daeik Eng Co., Ltd. and MAIKO International as domestic parties withdrew their investigation requests for the two firms.

These initial results allow interested parties to provide feedback before the USDOC reaches a final determination.
