US confirms POSCO receives countervailable subsidies for CTL plate sales

15 May 2026 15:59 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) finally concluded its administrative review regarding carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate (CTL plate) from South Korea, determining that POSCO Co., Ltd. received countervailable subsidies during the review period spanning from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. This state support resulted in a finalized subsidy rate of 3.70% for the company.

This ruling confirms that the company benefited from government assistance that creates an imbalanced trade environment. By establishing this specific rate, the USDOC ensures that the cost of these imported steel products accounts for the identified subsidies, maintaining federal trade standards for the domestic steel market.
