Morocco maintains safeguard measure on welded iron or steel pipe imports

On October 5, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Morocco made an affirmative final determination for the first sunset review of the safeguard measure on imports of iron or steel tubes and pipes, deciding to continue to impose a three-year safeguard measure on the subject products.

The duty rate of the safeguard measure in the first year is 22%, and it will be reduced by 1% per year during the imposition period.

The products involved are welded iron or steel tubes and pipes, with a circular, square, or rectangular section. From January 2022, HS codes for the subject products are 7306191090, 7306199900, 7306301099, 7306309900, 7306501090, 7306509900, 7306611010, 7306611090, 7306619000, 7306691000, 7306699900, 7306902012, 7306902019, 7306902022, 7306902029, 7306902039, 7306909019, and 7306909099.

Some countries are exempted from this safeguard measure, such as Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
