Equinor and Tenaris celebrated a key milestone at Tenaris’s Confab mill in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil, marking the completion of steel pipe production for the Raia project. This major offshore energy development involves a 200-kilometer subsea gas pipeline connecting an advanced FPSO in the Campos Basin to the Cabiúnas terminal in Macaé. The US$9 billion project, set to begin operations in 2028, has recoverable reserves exceeding one billion barrels of oil equivalent and will supply up to 16 million cubic meters of natural gas daily, meeting 15% of Brazil’s demand.

Confab manufactured 83,000 tons of specialized pipes and coatings, including advanced designs for depths up to 2,900 meters. With 99% of materials sourced domestically, the Raia project supports local industry and will create up to 50,000 jobs during its lifecycle, advancing Brazil’s energy infrastructure.
