Turkey’s wire rod exports significantly grow in Jan-Oct

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to around 766,000 tons in the first ten months of this year, significantly hiking by 47% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value was also up by 39% year on year to roughly US$469 million.

Among them, Romania was the main export destination with roughly 237,500 tons, a year-on-year surge of 138%. Bulgaria followed with around 67,000 tons, soaring by 325% year on year. Australia ranked third with 65,000 tons, up by 62% year on year.

In October alone, Turkey exported around 30,700 tons of wire rods, plunging by 74% from the preceding month and by 70% from the same month a year earlier. The export value was down by 74% month on month and by 68% year on year to roughly US$19 million.
