Argentina’s YPF cooperates with oil companies in pipeline construction for Vaca Muerta Sur project

YPF S.A., an Argentine state-owned energy company, announced that it has formed VMOS S.A. in partnership with local oil companies, Vista Energy Argentina, Pampa Energia, and Pan American Sur to advance the Vaca Muerta Sur project, for the transport and export of oil from its Vaca Muerta shale oil project.

The project, which includes the construction of 473 kilometers of pipelines, loading and unloading terminals, and storage facilities, is expected to cost US$3 billion and will be funded by partners and investors.

The pipeline's designed transportation capacity is 550,000 barrels per day, which can be increased to 700,000 barrels per day in the future if necessary.

The commercial operation was expected on July 31, 2027.
