Turkey's steel bloom & billet imports soar in Nov 2024 y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported approximately 475,000 tons of steel bloom and billet in November 2024, dropping by 24.4% from the previous month while soaring by 100.8% yearly. The import value was around US$244.8 million, sliding by 26.7% monthly while skyrocketing by 101.9% yearly.

From January to November, Turkey imported roughly 3.28 million tons of steel bloom and billet, increasing by 13.5% yearly. The import value was about US$1.8 billion, rising by 6.1% yearly. Russia was the largest supplier, with around 638,600 tons, followed by Malaysia (605,700 tons) and China (397,500 tons).
