On June 26, 2025, India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced a mid-term anti-dumping (AD) review investigation on stainless steel seamless tubes and pipes from China. The probe was initiated based on an application filed by the domestic company Vedanta Limited.

The products involved in this investigation are stainless steel seamless tubes and pipes with a diameter of up to 6 inches in nominal pipe size or comparable thereof in other unit of measurement, regardless of their manufacturing process (hot extruded or hot pierced, hot or cold finished), including defective, non-prime, and secondary grades. Premium threaded castings and tubes, known as OCTG, manufactured using HESPL's patented "Seal-Lock XD" process are excluded.

The affected products are under tariff heading 7304.
