According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on July 3, 2025, the US rig count fell by eight to 539 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas dropped by one to 108 units, and that for oil decreased by seven to 425 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 46 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count hiked by 11 to 151 units from the previous week, including 102 oil rigs (up by eight week on week) and 49 gas rigs (up by three week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by 24 units compared to the same period a year ago.
