Taiwan’s Feng Hsin holds rebar, scrap, section steel prices steady

Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd., a leading long steel producer in Taiwan, announced this week that rebar, scrap, and section steel prices will remain unchanged, with prices holding at NT$16,400/ton, scrap at NT$7,800/ton, and section steel at NT$23,700/ton.

The price announcement was in line with market expectations, following a quiet week for transactions. With international scrap and billet prices stable, Feng Hsin’s flat prices aim to maintain market confidence and encourage new orders.

Feng Hsin said that there were no offers from the US scrap shipment last week. Japan’s H2 scrap steel fell by 1.9% to US$305/ton, and US containerized scrap remained flat at US$295/ton. Australia’s iron ore prices rose by 1.2% to US$94.7/ton.
