Algeria opens new steel pipe production unit in Battioua

On July 9, 2025, a new production unit for EPE ALFAPIPE SPA, a subsidiary of the National Steel Holding Company (SNS), opened in Battioua, Oran Province. This inauguration is part of a state policy to rehabilitate and utilize confiscated industrial assets.

The facility can produce 360,000 tons of welded steel pipes annually and has a coating unit capacity of 300 square meters per hour, employing 160 workers. The Minister of Industry stressed its importance for national infrastructure, including energy, irrigation, and seawater desalination projects, while stressing adherence to safety and quality. The launch of this facility will support Algeria's industrial sovereignty and economic growth.
