USITC votes to continue investigation on rebar imports from 4 countries

23 Jul 2025 16:06 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
On July 18, 2025, the US International Trade Commission (USITC) voted to continue its investigation on imports of steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Algeria, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam. The USITC found a reasonable indication that the US industry is suffering injury due to these imports, which are allegedly sold at unfairly low prices and subsidized by the governments of Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam.

This decision means the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) will proceed with its anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations. Preliminary AD duty determinations are expected around November 12, 2025, and preliminary CVD determinations around August 28, 2025.
