US section beam exports hike in May, Canada buys most

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), in May, the US exported around 21,500 tons of section beams, including U, I, H, L, and T section steels, increasing by 27% compared to the previous month while falling by 38% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports to Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 16,000 tons, a month-on-month surge of 44% and a year-on-year fall of 34%. Mexico ranked second with around 3,900 tons.

During the period, the export value of these products totaled roughly US$28 million, up by 37% month on month and down by 30% year on year.
