Erciyas Çelik Boru wins strategic hydrogen pipeline tender in Italy

Turkey’s steel pipe manufacturer Erciyas Çelik Boru has won a tender from the Italian public gas administration to manufacture and supply a 23.5-kilometer hydrogen pipeline in Italy's Lombardy region, including Milan. This project is strategically important for Europe's energy transition goals.

Erciyas Çelik Boru, having previously produced natural gas pipes mixed with hydrogen, will now produce pipes capable of carrying 100% hydrogen. This makes them the first company in Turkey, the fourth largest in Europe, and among the top five globally with this capability.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2025, with phased deliveries of pipes conforming to European standards for hydrogen transmission. This contract confirms Erciyas Çelik Boru's technical expertise in green energy and hydrogen infrastructure.
