US’ rebar exports soar in May m-o-m

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), US rebar exports in May jumped by 58% month on month but dropped by 20% year on year, reaching around 14,000 tons.

Canada was the top destination for US rebar exports, receiving roughly 8,400 tons, a 123% surge from the previous month and a 23% fall from the same month a year earlier. Deliveries to other destinations were relatively low during the period.

In the given month, the export value increased greatly by 147% month on month and fell by 17% year on year to approximately US$12 million.
